About the Author
Christine Rubie-Davies is Associate Professor and Head of School Learning, Development and Professional Practice at the University of Auckland in New Zealand. Her primary research area is in teacher expectations. She was a primary school teacher for around 20 years, before moving into a university environment.

Thought provoking

This book presents a range of research based theory and then practical ideas to implement high-expectations in the classroom. It challenges teachers to consider their reasons for instructional grouping and the impact that has in the long term, for their students. It also challenges teachers to confront implicit bias in the classroom based on ethnicity and/or socio-economic status. I will be buying copies for our staff for our Professional Development focus next year.
